MOTO 2015 LINE-UP HAVE GOT OUR MOJO WORKING, YOURS TOO.

Hey there people, its been a while (...more like eternity) we got a post for you but somehow there was just too much (...but little inspiring) concepts and techs to post about but we got something to get our mojo flowing again and its all thanks to Motorola.

The pure Android phone manufacturers have just announced the release of their 2015 line up of devices and we must say, we do find them stunning and tempting.
Introducing the Moto G 2015, Moto X Style and Moto X Play. these three devices smartly cut into all categories of class, the Moto G for the low-end, the Moto X Play for the mid-range and the Moto X Style for the high-end, plus they seem to do their job in each aspect they represent.
Looking at the quick specs sheet,
  • Moto X Style is simply beautiful in craftsmanship, it comes with a brilliant 5.7" Quad HD gorilla glass protected display (...exceedingly sharp and crisp with 551ppi), a "Motorola Mobile Computing System including a 1.8GHz Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 808 with hexa-core CPU (MSM8992), Adreno 418 GPU, Natural Language Processor, and Contextual Computing Processor", front facing speakers with stereo sound, a 3000mAh battery for all day use (...it better be more than a day), water repellent coating for splashes and accidental dunks (...we wouldn't advise swimming), 21MP camera with zero shutter lag, rapid focus and color-balancing flash (...the what now?) plus a 5MP front facing camera with flash also (...very nice). internal memory options are 16, 32 and 64GB with external micro-SD of course. RAM is 3GB and the usual connectivity options are available including NFC.
  • Moto X Play is the mid-ranger here with a 5.5" full HD display of 403ppi and gorilla glass protection, a 3630mAh battery to keep you going for two days (...certainly more depending on usage). the processor is a "Motorola Mobile Computing System including 1.7GHz Qualcomm®Snapdragon 615 Octa-core CPU, Adreno 405 @ 550 MHz GPU, Natural Language Processor, Contextual Computing Processor" which is very capable of runing your power hungry games and apps quite easily. memory options are 16 and 32GB while RAM is 2GB. all other features are same as its high-end sibling (...mostly).
  • Moto G 2015, the low-end device doing big things comes with a 5" HD display of 294ppi and Gorilla glass protection, 2470mAh of battery for all day use (...more or less), a "Qualcomm® Snapdragon(TM) 410 (MSM8916) processor with 1.4 GHz quad-core CPU, Adreno 306 with 400 MHz GPU " which is an upgrade from last years Moto G model (...we used one and it did surprisingly well like a mid-range), 8GB internal memory with microSD option and 1GB of RAM (...okay, this part we frown on, WHY? 16GB with 2BG RAM should have been it). it has a 13MP rear camera with a quick capture function and color-balancing flash, the front is a 5MP one with display flash (...both are improved upgrades from the previous), splash proof and all connectivity options are present...oops! no NFC here.

Our thoughts:
We love, love and love all three devices, one thing (...among others) about Moto phones is the pure Android O.S installed in them, no bloatware (...ahem, Sammy) or such annoyances. If you have ever used a pure Android device then you'll understand. The build and specs of these devices will appeal to all class of power users definitely and it would appear their prices are just right too (...yep, we are not putting them up). Moto products are not big here in Nigeria and its almost a divine scene when people see our Moto phone and ask which brand to be answered "its Motorola". As a customer, we cannot guarantee you will readily be able to get these devices locally but a bit of digging wont hurt and we will be glad to take your orders too.
WELL DONE MOTOROLA...(we are not fan boys btw).

THE NEW NEXUS GOT YOUR 6 COVERED.

Google has announced their current device and will be available to order by the end of the month October 2014. The Nexus 6 like the previous generation of Nexus line comes with premium looks and specs leaving you with all your needs covered (…as for your wants, eeeeh!!!). Motorola are the company behind the new Nexus and as we covered before, the device strikes an uncanny resemblance with the 2014 Moto X device…well, except the interchangeable back which were not sure if the Nexus got that.
Here’s what the Nexus 6 is packing;
-          Android 5.0 Lollipop (completely redesigned Android UI…well mostly redesigned).
-          6” display with a pixel density of 496 for super sharpness and crispness.
-          Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset with a 2.65GHz quad-core Krait 450 CPU.
-          32GB / 64GB of internal storage…sadly no memory card support.
-          3GB of RAM.
-          13MP f/2.0 camera with dual-LED flash at the back and a 2MP front-facing (…as we call em now, selfie) camera.
-          A sealed in 3,220mAH battery unit which should technically give you a full day if intensive usage. The Nexus 6 also comes with something called Turbo Charging in which you get 6hrs of battery life from just 15mins of charging (…sounds pretty good to us).
-          A price tag of…569 and 649 Euros respectively (…ummm! N120, 059.00 and N136, 939.72 respectively). O_O we are sealing our lips on this one Google.

Think the Nexus 6 is for you, shipments will be arriving in major markets sometime in November 2014 but doubt we’ll be getting it here then, but then again, you never know.

Verdict: the Nexus 6 is quite an awesome device but we got to say, that price tag has our eyes still bulging out Google. For those who think the screen size just isn’t right for them, you can always get the Nexus 5 which is an amazing device still and will be receiving the Android 5.0 Lollipop update so nothing missed there.
