VERY CHEEKY ETISALAT...2K FOR 2GB, YES WE FOUND OUT.

Mobile networks have come to be a very reliable source for internet services among users. Routers and sticks just seem to be fighting for a share that's not motivating (...in comparison) of being dominant providers.

If you are an active mobile internet subscriber, then Etisalat among others is not new to you and definitely you are aware of their impressive speed (...we are sooo not endorsing here but its a fact), but up until now, it has been a matter of debate whether to use their (...strict, not friendly and expensive) data plan on your iOS, Android, WP (...Windows Phone) and BB OS device or just manage the others that are less expensive nor as fast (...rather frustrating some can be). well we wondered about and caught wind of a data plan on the "proud-we-dont-need-to-be-for-everyone" mobile network that we think you all will benefit from.

Etisalat has a new data plan of N2,000.00 (...2k) for 2GB of data as opposed the N2,000.00 (...again, 2k) for 1GB plan before. YES!!! jump around and feel free to try it. Here is us hoping there are no tricks to this their sudden charity (...FYI ipNX turned daylight robbers, so beware patronizing them).

simply load the needed amount and type;

*229*2*8#

dont forget to monitor your usage with;

*228#

and if you dont like the idea of auto-renewal (...like us, seriously WTH is with that?) simply opt out with;

*229*0#

there you have it, share and let others benefit.

CHECK OUT THESE SIDEWINDING CIRCULAR SKATES...CAN YOU FULL SPLIT???

Do you skate board or roller skate (...we don't but wont mind trying) then you will find this quite interesting and even if you don't, you still will. Riding on a set of small tires has always left us with a skeptic feeling (...especially due to our roads) about certain injuries and all, though watching others do it can be amusing (...especially their epic fails).

This unique concept skates caught our attention and though its not enjoying any major publicity (...selfie sticks, seriously?) we love the design and operation mechanism.

So what are they? they are annular skates that allow users to place their feet in each loop and ride them side ways (...like a skateboard), leaning side to side controls its acceleration and deceleration, stopping just requires you the rider to place your toes on the floor (...we guess it decelerates as your toes inch closer to the ground). the wheels are about 10 inches in diameter so there is ample space for your feet and that size allows the wheels to move on rougher terrains unlike the smaller ones of roller blades and skate boards.
The package also comes with a connecting rod for the wheels, this will enable beginners get a hang of riding it and then, go pro by taking them off and feeling like a super hero. These skates seem to have a weight limit though, 200IBS (pound) which is approximately 91kg (...still need a reason to diet?).

Our thoughts:

We love how it looks and how it rides, the 2-tone color theme is also a looker but we will like to see more color options like dark gray/matte black, white/black, gold/black, orange/black (...we know, these colors rock). Some additions to these skates will also be cool like indicator circular lights on the rim that are sunlight controlled, interchangeable wheels (...from very rugged patterns to blade thin surface area types) and perhaps the ability to change the position of the foot hold so riders can be facing forward directly if they want to (...a la the skater chic in Big Hero 6), now these additions will leave us with only one thing to say...SHUT UP AND TAKE OUR MONEY.

APPLE WATCH IN ALL ITS BEAUTY...YEP PRETTY MUCH.

Its been long coming for us to write about this and we have been biding our time (...actually we've been super busy and all) for now when we can break down what you need to know about this new alluring device and our thoughts on it.

The Apple Watch (...we would like iWatch) is just around the corner to be launched and if you have not seen a picture of it till now, don't worry (...some people just don't know when to stop posting about grandfathers and luck) better late than never.

Quickly here are what you should know about the Apple Watch;

  • there are two sizes with screen differences of 38mm and 42mm (...one is slightly smaller, which is cool for those not into big screen watches).
  • there is an aluminium build body type, stainless steel and a pure 18k gold type (...pocket size for everyone we guess, we want black gold too).
  • the straps are interchangeable, with an array of options to customize to your taste (...there's metal, leather, rubber etc).
  • the back of the watch is ceramic (...don't worry it wont itch, really smooth ceramic it is) and the screen is sapphire glass (...tough scratch resistant glass LIKE Gorilla glass but not it).
  • the screen will come on when you bring up your hand (...wrist) so it doesn't always stay on (...we saw somewhere that the most time you can interact with the screen is 6sec, hopefully not).
  • the touch screen allows you swipe through different panes and it is also pressure sensitive (...means some apps on it will require you to press or just touch the screen as need be).
  • the Apple Watch has a rotating knob for scrolling and other functions like zooming in and out.
  • it is equipped with Siri (...virtual assistant on your iPhones and iPads) for easy info access.
  • the device has a heart rate monitor at the back to help keep track of your health.
  • your notifications from paired devices (...Apple only) are fed directly to its screen with options to reply directly (...not all apps might allow that) so your device stays where it is and the watch acts as a second screen.
  • Apple Pay works directly on it, so should you make use of Apple Pay on your other Apple devices (iPhone 6 only we think) you can use the Apple Watch to make your purchases too.
  • the devices will not work on iPhone 4s and below so if you fall under those, don't bother (...or just upgrade).
  • the Apple Watch charges through a wireless charger, battery capacity is unknown yet (...to us) but we heard it will last a couple of days on a single charge.

There, everything we all need to know about the Apple Watch in simple less nerdy detail (...the processor, RAM, internal memory and battery are still relatively sketchy). While you're still wrapping your heads around the details, here is what we think.

Our thought:
The Apple Watch looks brilliant and elegant, design has always been impressive with Apple products (...we don't really like the iPhone 6 design though irrespective). the option of body types and screen size gives users quite some options that other Apple products generally don't allow and the interchangeable wristbands can really help in personalizing the devices on a daily bases or as needed.
No doubt, the hardware is going to be adequate, hints on how the Apple Watch operates tells us that battery life also will be adequate (...you most likely wont be doing so much on it frequently like a phone or pad) so not much complains there.
well done Apple, this is quite a remarkable device.

Should  you be getting one? well...uhhh...what are your needs first, is the question you gotta ask yourself. The basics of the Apple Watch is to view your notifications from your device, monitor your health (...like you really do that or will do that), purchase stuff through your online account on it (...depends on region this will be useful) and umm GPS navigation...basically that's all. So if you see yourself making use of these features very often, then by all means you should consider getting the Apple Watch.

Like always, it is advised to check the competition out there and select the best option to your needs. we have the affordable Pebble SmartWatch (...and the newer 2nd version coming out pretty soon) that syncs with both iOS and Android devices, the array of Android Wear devices (...Moto 360, Samsung Gear S, LG G Watch R etc) and also newly introduced Microsoft Band (...affordable and very resourceful). In the end it all comes down to you the buyer and us your consultant (...fees WILL apply).

TAKE A BITE OFF THE NEW APPLE MacBook,...NUM NUM OUCH!!!

Apple has been all round tech news lately and today we stumbled upon a new product from the premium (...basically just overpriced) tech company. its not just us but any tech coming from the tech giants Apple always has its way of holding the attention of customers and even rivals.

introducing the super slim and efficient new MacBook. if you don't know what a MacBook is, don't fret, its just Apple inc. (...makers of iPhone) own brand of computers running their own os called OS X (the X is a 10, not just a letter) and not Windows (...nor Android).

the new MacBook comes with the following features;

  • its 13.1mm at its thickest point (...now the iPhone 5 is 7mm thick, yes now you can see).
  • it comes in just one size, 12" Retina display with all the vibrant color eye candy.
  • the batteries have been redesigned to accommodate its super slim build by taking shape to fill up every space need (...width wise) and providing all day power.
  • it comes with a USB-C port which is a pretty useful USB type port that allows for USB 3.0 type data transfer, charging the MacBook and for HD media output.
  • comes in Gold, Space gray and Silver (...we love Gray)
  • under the hood there are two models but both with an Intel Core processor clocked at different speeds and also their SSD differs. that's majorly their differences.
  • the new MacBook will be available by April (...get ready for the hole it will leave in your pocket).

basically we have covered what to expect, if you're a MacBook fan and all, then this will not be such a bad idea to upgrade but also check with last year models as they will be dropping in price and their tech is still pretty in there too.

our thoughts:

Apple has released another fashion statement to say, yes its thinner but what real significance does it have over immediate previous models we wonder. those into multimedia processing usually are the ones who drive these systems to the wall and thus will easily tell their raw power differences. for the average user, its just another fashion statement to you so we will advice you look into the other models before jumping the gun.
we will like to get our hands on a unit (...yes, and show off too) and really get a test drive first hand. all the same, the new MacBook is a very impressive premium device (as to be expected, oh and pricey too) and it doesnt under deliver in looks or raw power (...by what we know though).
well done Apple.

Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, SHUT UP AND TAKE MY...Hmmm!!!

It almost feels like waiting for Christmas when it comes to the unveiling of a much anticipated device, Xperia Z, HTC One, Galaxy S III...etc and its not many devices that leave us in such a yearning state. Flagship devices have always held the attention of consumers (...even if they turn out to be utter rubbish) and they will always have that hold on consumers.

Not prancing around, we have the Samsung Galaxy S6 FINALLY out and our hearts can now go into hyper drive as we explore Samsung's latest flagship. Following the recent history of Samsung, you must have got wind of their financial challenges (...no thanks to their release of irrelevant multiple entry of similar devices at once to the market) therefore it is in their investors (...and fans alike) interest that this new flagship helps even a bit to raise the situation of things.

Gathering info on the Galaxy S6 here are what you should know about the device;
  • Premium design with front and back glass panels, metal frame, slim and one hand usable.
  • 5.1 inch QHD AMOLED screen with 557 ppi, excellent viewing angles and sharpness beyond your eyes.
  • Samsung's own and newly introduced Exynos SoC processor with amazing super all round performance.
  • Memory options of 32, 64 and 128GB, no SD Card options though.
  • 16 MP main camera with optical image stabilization, F1.9 aperture for better low light images than the Galaxy S5, real-time HDR and tracking auto-focus for the video camera.
  • Android 5.0 Lollipop out of box with Touch Wiz UI on board.

You don't have to be a tech person to relate to the listed specs above (...me make it easy enough for everyone) and know that the Samsung Galaxy S6 does deliver as the flagship it represents.

Our thoughts:

Has Sammy outdone themselves this time?
we think they put in a bit more effort than their lazy routine of bland designs. Samsung didn't go the cheap (...or relatively ugly) plastic builds they've been notoriously known for and we are thankful. The new build however is quite (...ok pretty much) similar to a certain recently released phone design and don't give us the lame excuse that all phones are bar shaped so they must look so.
We like the build quality, the metal frame looks premium (...please don't let it peel over time) and the glass panels give the phone a very standard and exquisite feel (...be weary of fingerprints, why didn't they use olephobic coating on both we wonder). The color options too are very classy looking, well done Samsung.

Internals and other hardware, yes we did not expect any let-downs as Samsung have always played well regarding those with their flagship devices. What we would have loved to see was perhaps a higher MP camera perhaps 20-22 MP. Perhaps the most unflattering thing about the hardware (...as with most flagship devices) is that even the previous flagships are so significantly powerful that a comparison by functionality will barely show highly impressive differences (...unless benchmark readings which you know nothing about nor could care more about).

On software, WHHHHYYYYY??? we particularly do not like the whole Touch Wiz UI (...like you too) it just has this nostalgic feeling of kindergarten. We were hoping the Galaxy S6 would be very close to stock Android but oh no, they just had to ruin it with their Touch Wiz bloat wares, sigh! very well, we use what we get...or not.

We don't have info on the sounds abilities or battery performance but we can assume customers will be getting their moneys worth.

Samsung has improved impressively (...to some of you) in their design department without drifting too far from what dedicated customers are used to, which is commendable (...if they did this like 2yrs ago) so we say thumbs up.

should you be eager to get one?

unless you just have a syndrome that causes you to purchase any new device, then go right on. if not, your current flagship device (...from last year) is still more than capable of holding its own. get it if youre all about looks and ego (...show off).
if you havent had a flagship device for a couple of years now and have decided to get one, then this is a fine option (...also wait for its competition too before deciding) you most likely wont regret.
