HAPPY NEW YEAR WITH CES 2015…CES YOU ASK? OMG!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR WITH CES 2015…CES YOU ASK? OMG!!!

The New Year has begun (we send our best wishes) and it couldn’t start any better than with CES 2015…for those of you still lost on what CES is, here’s a summary from the official site and a link to get informed (…seriously it’s not funny you not knowing anymore).

The International CES (Consumer Electronics Show®) is the world’s gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technologies. It's where business gets done: on the show floor, in and around our conference program, in impromptu connections and in planned meetings and special events.

Now that that’s out of the way (…thank you) we can write about what interests us and what you should be looking forward too.

Sony
The Japanese Tech giants will be unveiling a lineup of super slim TVs with image and sound supremacy as always (we love Sony devices…mostly).
Another main attraction will be the really elusive Z4 series of Android devices rumored to pack the latest Snapdragon processor amongst other high end features.

Our thoughts:
Last year’s TV tech isn’t a far cry from what we will be seeing so unless you’ve had no idea about what technology has been released recently (…2014) you might just be left bored.
Z4? Really Sony? When did Z3 lineup just get featured and is now available for consumers (…love the Z3 compact, awesome) that we are now looking to Z4 which will have the Z4, Z4 Compact…the rest? Meh! Sony should really revise this idea of 2 flagships a year thing before their debts start to really pile up.

Samsung.
They are not just known for mobile devices but are also into other technology like entertainment systems and all plus they are a huge success in all…virtually, but you probably cannot be bothered. Samsung will be at the show unveiling their latest rumored device the Galaxy S6. Not much is known about the device (…shocking, knowing how loose keeping their info sealed is) but rest assured for all the geeks out there that the specs will not under deliver. Samsung has been facing some financial issues (…we warned them) from producing more devices than they sell (we noticed, did you?) so now they intend focusing on flagships and closely related devices (…can’t exactly say thumbs up to their strategist team coz seems they have been zzzz on the job) so all the best to them.

Our thoughts:
Samsung (flagship) devices come pretty well equipped and stand formidable in the market, we give them that and yes we guess it is time for the Galaxy S6 to surface so we are excited to see what it will bring in looks majorly (we already expect it to come with Android L and top specs) and we hope plastic (cheap plastic) isn’t big on their material list this time.

LG.
Ever heard of the LG G Flex? No, well it is a curved screen smart device that was released last year and it will appear a successor will be announced at CES 2015. We never really saw one not to talk of getting our hands on one so our excitement (…as well as yours we are sure) is just meh.
On the other hand, LG will be show casing some pretty impressive TV sets with super slim lines, curved units and super high resolution ones too so that can be a sight.

Our thoughts:
LG rocks and has killer spec devices but they need to do a bit more (…WTH is with the curved smart device???) if you’re going to make such (expensive) devices, at least have the balls to pull out the other major flagship competition to give it a face to stand and depending on customer feedback, it stays or is locked back in archive.
Good work on the TV units though.

ON ANOTHER NOTE ENTIRELY…

Do you want to get a smart phone on a budget? Let us recommend the Microsoft (…not Nokia) Lumia 535.
Here is a quick rundown of its specs;
-         Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chipset with 1.2GHz quad-core CPU (decent for day to day activities, go get a proper console or spend more otherwise).
-         1GB of RAM and 8GB of built-in memory, with micro SD card slot (1GB ram Lumia devices have more compatible apps on the Windows Store).
-        A 5” IPS display unit with qHD resolution (960 x 540 pixels) with enhanced sunlight readability.
-        Corning Gorilla Glass 3 (scratch resistant, don’t test it).
-        Duo 5MP cameras on the front and the back (selfie and Skype ready).
-       Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim plus free access to popular Microsoft services (Outlook, Office, Skype…etc.).

The device comes in an array of colorful back covers too so feel free to indulge. At a price of $150 (…N27, 000.00) thereabout, it is a pretty decent deal. Oh! Windows Phone has BBM and others plus it has a very fluid lag free (…almost) UI so you won’t feel like throwing it against your wall every now and then.

Consult, purchase or service? We got you.
