BlackBerry Classic is not so meh! We think.

BlackBerry Classic is not so meh! We think.

Even if you’re living under a rock, you must have heard and seen the new BlackBerry devices Passport and more recently the Classic (the Classic we can still forgive you though).
The Classic is more of a Bold 5 rebrand than anything new to say. We the customers have asked and raved for our accustomed trackpad with the control deck it’s fitted with aaaaaaaaand BlackBerry has responded with the Classic.

The Classic features the following;
-          3.5" 720p touchscreen with 294ppi density and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
-          Dual-core 1.5GHz Krait processor with 2GB RAM
-          8MP rear cam with a LED flash and 2MP front camera.
-          Full QWERTY keyboard, track pad and familiar control deck (call keys, menu and back).
-          BB OS 10.3.1 out of box.
-          Non-removable Li-Ion 2515 mAh battery.

The Classic comes with pretty good specs standing along the Passport and other similar BB 10 devices so if you have handled any of them, you will know what the Classic has to offer. The OS update brings a number of improved functionality (…you can read up on it OYO). The battery is non removable but don’t start sulking as BlackBerry have sincerely worked on better battery performance.

Its build quality is very impressive too, though with a plastic back, it does not look or feel cheap. The metal frame is a wonderful touch to the Classic too. Overall it is very well made, no creaking, or the likes.

Our thoughts: we like the Classic quite well, it’s the alternative if you don’t fancy its Passport sibling in looks. BlackBerry devices have never been all about entertainment but rather professionalism (…and PRIVACY) so you may be disappointed expecting a full media house like gaming and related. Irrespective of their professional persona, BlackBerry still makes decent effort to not make their devices bland when there isn’t work to do. Equipped with Amazons own app store for a larger range of Android apps plus the ability to side load any Android app you desire (…be careful of your download source), we think you will be pretty satisfied overall. BlackBerry has done a good thing with the Classic and we can only wish them all the best.

Need consult on getting a device? We got you.
